DALLAS and CHICAGO - November 14, 2008 – Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) and U.S. Cellular announce the availability of the Samsung Delve™ (SCH-r800). The Samsung Delve’s full touchscreen design features tactile haptic feedback, which gives users a vibrating pulse when items are selected. The Samsung Delve can instantly shift to landscape mode, creating a virtual QWERTY touchpad for easy text messaging while on-the-go.

“People are using their phones for more than just phone calls,” said Alan D. Ferber, Chief Marketing Officer at U.S. Cellular. “Whether they’re updating and checking Facebook and MySpace pages, browsing the Web, playing music or checking e-mail, our customers can keep connected anytime, anywhere with the Samsung Delve.” 

The Samsung Delve features advanced responsive, multimedia capabilities and Samsung’s unique TouchWiz interface. TouchWiz incorporates specially designed widgets that allow the user to customize and personalize their phone, offering the user the right balance of functionality and style. The quick and simple ‘drag and drop’ widgets provide instant access to users’ favorite functions. A unique menu of widgets display functions such as a music player, Web browser, Bluetooth, text messaging and more personal elements.

The Samsung Delve’s built-in HTML browser gives users the ability to quickly access the Web and download content in a snap. The phone comes equipped with stereo Bluetooth® for easy hands-free communication, a built-in 2.0 megapixel camera with camcorder, MP3 player and GPS navigation. The Samsung Delve supports a Samsung 8GB MicroSD card that is sold separately and great for expanding memory space for storing music, pictures or videos. The Samsung Delve also includes easyedgeSM, U.S. Cellular’s suite of enhanced wireless data application services. Access to easyedgeSM allows customers to shop for content including ringtones, wallpaper and games, while also being able to locate the latest news and entertainment.
